Kick-off meeting of the Korean-German Blockchain Working Group in Munich was a big success

April 14, 2017

The kick-off meeting of the Korean-German Blockchain Working Group, which took place at Deloitte offices in Munich on April 7, was a big success.

Blockchain experts, regulators and representatives of BaFin, Blockchain Helix, Blocko, Blockpay, Coinplug, Deloitte, Ethereum, Finotek, Frankfurt Main Finance, Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, Korean Blockchain Society, Nexussquared, Quantoz, Simmons & Simmons, Sogang University, Taylor Wessing and The Loop took part in person or via videoconference.

We had highly interesting discussions about current Blockchain trends in South Korea and Germany. Furthermore, we informed each other about upcoming events on both sides, where we want to jointly take part. Many of the participants mentioned their interest in standardization, in particular the development at ISO/TC307. Last but not least, we saw a big interest in academic cooperation between the leading universities and their blockchain centers and institutes.

The participants have proposed the following topics for the next meetings:

  1. digital identity,
  2. supply chain management,
  3. standardization, and
  4. academic cooperation.

The Blockchain Working Group comprises more than 30 Korean, German, Dutch and Hong Kong members as well as 4 observers from regulatory authorities.

Asian and European Blockchain companies and experts, who want to join, are highly welcome. Please contact us for details.
